Sell the Experience

When your customers walk through your doors, they’re not just looking for a meal. They’re looking for an experience- something memorable that keeps them coming back and talking about your business long after they’ve left.

The way your business and food is presented plays a massive role in shaping that experience. Before customers even set foot in your restaurant, cafe, or bakery, their first experience of your company is through your photos.

Your Brand

Before a single bite is taken, your brand sets the tone. Is it elegant, sophisticated, rustic, bold or fun and playful? The colours, fonts and style of your branding will already be attracting a certain clientele- make sure it is targetting those you intend to.

Having photos that match your branding style with give a more cohesive feel to your company and help new and existing clients to recognise your business as well as stand out amongst the sea of competition.

Your Premises

Whether you’re tucked away in a cosy village or have a prime location in a bustling high street, your premises are part of your appeal. Your customers want to know what to expect; the vibe, the decor, the ambience.

You’ll no doubt have invested in your site and kitting it out, so why not show it off! Do you have some funky furniture, a unique design or an indoor rainforest for customers to dine in? Use these features to your advantage- you may even have customers coming just to check out the site, especially if you’ve got a great “instagrammable” spot for them to sit and post from.

Your Food

Of course your food is the star of the show but how it’s presented visually can make or break the sale. With the vast numbers of images society consumes on a daily basis and the culture of scrolling, you really only have 1 second to catch your viewers attention and make them pause mid-scroll.

Poorly presented food, inadequate lighting or out of focus photos are an instant turn-off, even if your product actually tastes amazing. Make your food irresistible, before they’ve even tasted it.

You & your Staff

People don’t just connect with food, they connect with the people behind it. You and your team are a huge part of your story; their warmth, energy and passion for what they do.

Photos that show the faces behind the food help build trust and loyalty. They humanise your brand and turn one-off customers into regulars, who can really connect with your business.

People buy from people… let them see yours.

Are you showing off the whole experience to your prospective customers or has this given you some new ideas?
