Celebrating together

It was such an honour to be invited by Chef Gurpreet Singh Dham to the launch of a network that already feels both inspiring and incredibly important for the future of Indian hospitality and beyond.

What stayed with me most wasn’t simply the scale of experience gathered in one room, but the spirit behind it.

Indian Culinary Diaspora is built around something we don’t see nearly enough of.

People from different professions, backgrounds and industries coming together through one shared connection- their Indian heritage and roots, with the intention of supporting, elevating and helping one another grow.

Not competing.
Not gatekeeping.
Not viewing each other as rivals.

But collaborating.

In industries where competition so often creates distance between people, there was something genuinely refreshing about witnessing a community being built around collective progress and shared success.

As someone of Indian heritage, celebrating that part of my identity in a room filled with so much talent, warmth and pride felt incredibly special.

It all felt grounding. A reminder of how important culture, heritage and community really are.

And then, of course, there was the food.

A beautifully curated Indian fusion dinner by Chef Omkar Mestry that brought creativity, flavour and storytelling together so effortlessly. Exactly the kind of dining experience that stays with you long after the evening ends.

The whole event felt like a celebration in the truest sense.

Of heritage.
Of collaboration.
Of community.
Of people choosing to build together rather than apart.

And honestly, we need more spaces like that.

Here’s to the communities that remind us who we are, where we come from and how much stronger we become when we celebrate together
